GATHER MARKET
The Gather market, launched in December 2020 was established by reclaim founder Akudo (Amy) Iheakanwa in the hope of creating a space for women, particularly women of colour based in Africa and the wider diaspora, to showcase their businesses.
The event began with a wellness focus where brands had to be wellness based, 80% made locally, use eco friendly packaging and owned at-least 50% by a woman. After the success of the first two events, Gather expanded its curation into other areas centred around a Wellness-based lifestyle; such as locally made fashion, homewares, local produce, crafts, plants and more.
With over 200 applications and counting we are into our 17th edition and growing with every event.
Akudo is currently working on finding a permanent space for many of our resident brands so that they may also have a home for their products and get better access to market and networking opportunities on a more regular basis. The permanent space will be called The Gather House and will be a multi-purpose space offering a showroom of women only brands from the country and diaspora, spaces for women to rent and use for meetings and events as well as flexible open workspaces for business owners to work, relax and rejuvenate.
